After a lifetime of helping others tell compelling stories, it's time to tell some of my own.

I still help people develop effective, enjoyable and entertaining presentations about their businesses, artistic endeavors and social or political passions, but I'm also developing a series of my own short subjects about characters' passionate pursuit of their goals even in the face of seemingly overwhelming obstacles.

I've been directing groups of creative, motivated individuals toward mutually shared goals since I was in junior high school.

Whether the ultimate goal is a musical performance, series or festival, a printed publication, a tradeshow or professional conference, a radio or television ad, a municipal improvement project, a new website or blog, an educational speech or a short subject film, my teams turn out excellent work on time and have fun doing so.

Since I acquired my own production capability recently, my gradually growing reel includes the following: (You'll need QuickTime to see many of these, though some of them are on YouTube...)

  • A quickly written, directed, lit, shot and edited promo piece for a neighbor and his new book.
  • My first Video Real Estate Preview, part of the original justification for investing in my own equipment. (The house is now sold...)
  • My second Video Real Estate Preview. This house is also sold.
  • A quick video holiday card.
  • A short spot incorporating footage shot by others, titled to promote the projection services provided by a company I provide marketing consulting, graphic design and copywriting.
  • Here's an advocacy piece I co-directed with Alec Asten, and an all-volunteer crew and cast. I don't want to take too much credit for this -- Alec and others did most of the work, but he insists that I was extremely helpful in helping to shape the message, coach on-screen talent, and direct the shooting floor at times he was occupied elsewhere. OK, fine, if you insist, Alec...
  • An ad I wrote and directed with Peter Schulze, so he could concentrate on shooting and editing. Ronny... what a character!
  • Another ad I helped Peter Schulze direct. Peter wrote this one, shot and edited it.
  • Here's a montage I edited using a piece of footage provided by Mark Erelli, stills taken from his website and one of his tunes to promote his appearance at a fundraiser concert last April for Debi.
